"for swimmers looking to improve technique and build stamina"

Introduction: 

The Improver stage is aimed at swimmers who have a good understanding of stroke technique but who may still need to develop breathing practises. The key focus at this level is introducing stamina swims and building distance over multiple lengths.

 

Skill Required: 

  • Swimmers should be confident over a minimum of 2 lengths per swim. 

  • Have a good understanding of the main swimming strokes Front crawl, Back crawl, Breaststroke, Butterfly (Optional)

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the breathing practises for each of the strokes.

Distance covered:

25m - 50m ​

 

Key objectives: 

  • Developing stamina.

  • Refining stroke technique.

  • Developing skills, introducing tumble turns, introducing push and glide transitions, treading water etc.
